... it's worth a shot.

The Magic Kingdom

Beth and I just got back from a wonderful trip to London England to shoot a wedding. It was a beautiful trip and we felt completely at home over there. It was a brilliant mix of city and country with the wedding in a church in Shenfield who's first recorded wedding was in 1536. In the second half of the trip we went into London proper and fit as much touristy things as we could into 2 1/2 days.

It was an amazing adventure.

Pictures from Joanna & Phil's wedding will be posted here soon but I thought I'd put up some of our more touristy shots.

I had a funny "old" experience when I got home. I was excited to take my film camera - the Lomo - with me and had that old experience of dropping of the film and having to wait a day to see what my pictures would look like. It was fun!

Arriving at Gatwick.

Red-eye flying, apparently, gives me the wavey-est hair.

This was in Hyde Park, near Kensington Palace. Part of the park's Diana Memorial, it's an old tree trunk that has been carved with elves and birds. From a distance I thought it was a parrot cage.

The London Eye was a definitely a highlight for us. Here's Beth looking West toward Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

Have you been to London? What was your favourite part?

The Allens at the beach

On a beautiful sunny Sunday Beth and I drove down to Lake Erie to take some pictures with the Allen Family. Megan and Rebecca arranged the photoshoot for their mom and dad's 25th wedding anniversary.

I love ending a photoshoot with homemade food around a table at the cottage. Thanks Allens!

Cambridge Engagement : Jennie + Keenan

On a super hot night in July I became a Cambridge wedding photographer for Jennie & Keenan. We had a hilarious night shooting at the park and by a great old factory in their neighbourhood (call me old fashioned... I LOVE the new Grain available in Lightroom 3!).

London Wedding : Colleen + Dave

Our good friend (and former summer camp nurse), Colleen, got married at the Idlewyld Inn on the first of May. It was really nice to get to meet Dave after hearing about him for so long!

It was a great spring day (not too hot) and everything was VERY green - a great backdrop for wedding photos.

What do you think? Let me know your favourite picture in the comments.

I must say, I really enjoyed the Idlewyld and the back courtyard was a great place for a small wedding. Thanks for having us over, Christine!

Jessica's Portraits

Jessica came to me for some portraits to give out to her family for Christmas this year. Being the resourceful librarian, she found us an inside location at Knox Presbyterian Church (...who doesn't have a website. Really?) in Woodstock. I have loved the architecture of this great old church since I used to go to youth events there in high school.

And now I bring you... The Twizz*

Rylee, Cindy & Shawn

I met Shawn & Cindy at Alicia & Rich's wedding at the beginning of October. It was really nice to get to know them better on this Sunday afternoon.

I also appreciate that they were so willing to reschedule after I had an unfortunate acupuncture experience and had to bump them back a couple of weeks!

Rachel, Tessa, Robyn & Peter

One of the last family portrait sessions of the season: Rachel, Tessa, Robyn & Peter. Peter is a great friend from high school. We have a group of 4 of us who are still close after 20 years.

It was really fun to shoot Peter and his family on a colourful Saturday in late October. I can't believe how fast the girls are growing up!
